If we as members unite in the common goals and principles of the MTRA we shall overcome all obsticles and render a positive to all in need. We hold our members accountable for their actions and lack there-of. If you can abide by these 16 Principles as set forth by the Founding Fathers of the MTRA, then we would like to connect with you in hopes to add you to our membership. There are no waiting periods (Prospecting) etc.. We do not follow the biker protocals of yesteryear... We only ask that you abide your time and be patient as we transistion you into what we hope to be the best Riding Association in recent years. And by all means if you are interested in becoming an Officer of the MTRA, please feel free to discuss this with our Regional Chapter's Rep. Or the MTRA president. We would love to add you as an Officer and establish new Chapter's across the New England regions, as well as Nationally
These 16 Principles are what we as an MTRA stand by. Each member upholds to the fullest these principles as set by the Founding Fathers of the Star 16 MTRA
1.) Respect:
Of and for all:
MTRA principles, beliefs, all its brothers and sisters, toward country, the almighty, and all mankind.
2.) Honor:
Of traditions, family, brothers and sisters, country and service.
3.) Integrity:
Do as you say, and always follow through with your commitments. Always have the MTRA principles in the forefront of your lives, stand undivided in purpose and principle.
4.) Family:
MTRA members alike are extended family. Treat and respect them as though they were your blood family member. Personal family always comes first; MTRA family should never supersede personal family. In essence, we are one big extension all associated with the one. As members, we need to acknowledge that there will be times when schedules and personal issues may conflict with timing of MTRA events and issues. Be understanding, and compassionate toward others. Lend the helping hand, reach out to those in need, and when possible always battle for victory over the issues. Come together as one…
5.) Tradition:
As an MTRA we are breaking traditional stereotypes of the biker community. We do however maintain traditional protocols within the MTRA guidelines and the community. Many of the past biker clubs and organizations traditions remain in effect. We still follow a chain-of-command, believe in the same principles, rights, and continue to honor those that have fallen. We are also establishing new and MTRA specific traditions for future generations. As MTRA members we have the responsibility to develop, teach, and see to it that future generations of family members adhere to these traditions. Consistency and leadership will help the MTRA remain strong, committed, and respected.
6.) Remembrance:
Never forget! Fallen brothers and Sisters of the community, our servicemen and women, our country and its history. Keep these people, events, and their memories alive. Participate, create, and extend the open hand in events, family, and honor them throughout time.
7.) Values:
Always maintain your principles and personal values. Never compromise or surrender to pressures of others. Your moral character and fiber hinges on your values and beliefs, and those of the MTRA. Remain steadfast, true to self, and always have the ability to live with your decisions once made.
8.) Fun:
Life is far too short today. Always take advantage of the opportunities we are given. Promote, engage, encourage, participate and create, FUN. There are ample opportunities throughout the year to enjoy life’s lighter side. Come together and share these moments with the MTRA family. We are only limited by our imaginations.
9.) Comradery:
One of the greatest pleasures of association in any club or organization is the new and extended networking of friends, family and associates. This is the foundation of the MTRA. Meet, Greet, and embrace new relationships, friends, and associates along the many journeys of the MTRA. Join with others in a common cause, bond, and belief system.
10.) Charity:
We all have something we can live without. There are those also that have things needed in order to survive. Give what you can In times of need, come together as one and offer your support, funds, time, and of yourself. The benefits of such undertakings far outweighs the short term inconvenience and loss. If we as the MTRA can make a difference even to one individual, then we have done our greatest deed.
11.) Individuality
We are of many nationalities, ethnicities, and spiritual beliefs. We respect the individual and accept them as they are, and for what they believe. We shall not discriminate any member, family member, or their beliefs. We are individuals, but remain as a family under all circumstances at all times. Respect the individual, accept the individual, and embrace the individual…Regardless of your personal beliefs.
12.) Sustainability:
As MTRA members, it is our responsibility to maintain and promote or association and its purpose. Encourage memberships, give of your time when needed, encourage future generations and by all means donate your support whenever possible. Encourage and seek out vendors, and sponsors.
13.) Safety:
Maintain and encourage safe operation of your motorcycle. Attend needed courses and always abide by the laws governing the state and the operation of said motorcycle. Follow and obey the (ROR) Rules of the Road. Offer training and other information of benefit to other riders. Ride responsibly, and encourage and promote these basics to younger generations.
14.) A Voice:
All members are given a voice in the MTRA operations and association. You have been guaranteed the opportunity to voice concerns, opinions, ideas, etc. You have been given the opportunity to vote in your officers, events, and other activities. Use it…if you choose not to participate, then you have no recourse for actions taken. Take the opportunity to express yourself, and offer to the MTRA your insights, visions, and other aspirations affecting you and your association.
15.) Open Doors:
The MTRA holds and maintains an open door policy. All are welcome regardless of affiliations, type and style of ride, beliefs, ethnicity, and so forth. We shall always remain true to this policy. All Are Welcome.
16.) For a Lifetime:
Once accepted as a member of the MTRA, you are granted a lifetime membership. Regardless of position or post in the MTRA or as a regular membership status. You may disassociate with the MTRA at anytime, however shall remain and be considered a lifelong family member regardless of circumstance. The choice remains yours at all times to be affiliated with the MTRA or not. Only word of caution: should you terminate your membership, you will need to reapply as a new member should you decide to return to the MTRA family.
